About

You excel at what you do. I take care of your numbers.

I’m Ophélie Fender, a fractional CFO. I work with owners of SMEs with €1–5M in revenue, in Paris and Île-de-France, so they finally know who earns what, where their money goes and where they’re heading.

Why I do this work

At a company where I worked, I had to build a redundancy plan.

It was a fine business, with good people and great projects, and it was generating revenue. But management decisions taken without visibility had let costs run away, and despite the revenue, it was losing money. The only decision that could save it was to cut the payroll in half.

For me, these weren’t lines in a spreadsheet. Every name I marked in red, every conversation, every severance negotiation weighed on me. That day I understood that a redundancy plan is almost never inevitable: it’s the price of the visibility you didn’t have eighteen months earlier, when everything could still be turned around.

Since then, my mission has been simple: give business owners the numbers to decide before it’s too late.

That’s also why I chose SMEs over a large group. Behind every SME is a person who built their company, who has ambitions for it, and who can genuinely be spared what I went through.

Where my method comes from

I spent ten years in group finance, overseeing several entities with very different businesses. That’s where I built the team-level P&Ls, budgets and forecasts that I now set up for my clients. The size of the company doesn’t change the principles: it only changes how long they take to put in place.

Three things to know before working with me

01

The numbers always reconcile.

An unexplained gap is a gap to fix. I never hand over a table where I can’t justify every line, and I’d rather tell you a figure is uncertain than present it as solid.

02

I speak without jargon.

Margin, payroll, profit, cash: the words you use, not those of consulting firms. If an explanation needs a glossary, it’s a poor explanation.

03

I tell you what I think, even when it’s uncomfortable.

A loss-making unit, an employee who doesn’t pay for themselves, a decision that’s costing you dearly: you’ll hear it from me, face to face, before it ends up in a report.

And what I don’t do

I don’t keep your books. That’s your accountant’s job, and I work from what they produce.

I don’t promise a specific financial result. I commit to accurate numbers and clear trade-offs.

I don’t decide for you. I give you the visibility and the options, with what each one costs. The choice is yours.
